Heavyweight Brand Manager - Major FMCG Food Brand

Smart, creative thinking, brand passionate FMCG marketer needed now for this exciting role driving the growth strategy for a key product range, part of a global brand enjoyed by consumers in over 120 markets worldwide to enhance their cooking and eating experiences. In what is a high-profile, high-exposure role within the team, we’re looking for a super-smart, ‘foodie’ candidate to develop and execute an ambitious growth plan, managing a wide range of digital comms, e-commerce, NPD/innovation, and shopper activation initiatives to excite and engage the UK consumer. Against a backdrop of consumers spending more time at home, both work and leisure, adding interest and convenience to home cooking occasions has never been more important, without doubt providing this role an increased opportunity to fuel brand growth.


Specific Responsibilities include:


  • Developing the annual strategy and brand plan for your range, including owning the brand P&L.
  • Analysing consumer and market data and trends to identify range extension and innovation opportunities and address competitor activity.
  • Developing and implementing omni-channel integrated marketing & comms strategies, working with the European central content teams to build media strategies and develop high impact creative work across all touchpoints including websites, social media and paid search.
  • Working closely with European innovation teams to develop and implement ambitious NPD and innovation plans, as well as SKU rationalisations as and if required.
  • Working as part of cross functional teams across website development, culinary/recipe development, graphics, legal, consumer insight, operations, sales & finance to ensure optimum portfolio play.
  • Working closely with Sales, Category and Shopper teams to ensure new brand and promotional initiatives land well with major customers, and ensure optimum channel and pricing strategies.
  • Working with Revenue Management team to develop product & channel pricing and winning promotional strategy & plans.


Skills & Experience Checklist


This is a role for an ambitious and driven brand champion with a proven track record of success working across the marketing mix on well-known FMCG brands at Brand Manager level or above. Key skills include:


  • Proven ability developing compelling consumer comms and brand building initiatives, with a digital first, consumer-centric approach that excites and engages consumers and shoppers.
  • Excellence in NPD execution and portfolio management, influencing and collaborating with key stakeholders to drive initiatives forward at a pace.
  • Commercial savvy and strong analytical thinking skills with a good grasp of P&Ls and continuous market, retailer and shopper data including Nielsen and Kantar.
  • Strong Business Ownership - you’ll see your brand as your own business and love to roll up your sleeves and get stuck into building & leading your brand’s growth.
  • Positive, can-do spirit – you’ll bring bags of energy & enthusiasm to driving your brand growth.
  • Strong project leadership experience with ability to manage multiple projects, working cross-functionally with other departments and regional teams.
  • Exceptional project management skills and ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
  • Hands-on experience of successfully managing and launching NPD and EPD projects.
  • A good creative eye with the ability to think laterally and creatively – always looking for new ideas and approaches.
  • Strong influencing and stakeholder management skills, able to engage colleagues at all levels of seniority.
