Excellent opportunity for smart, curious, senior insight & research specialist to bring their skills to a challenging and busy role with a global FMCG business with a huge portfolio of market leading and much-loved consumer brands based in its global hub in Amsterdam. Working with senior brand, commercial, innovation and R&D teams, this is a key role requiring exceptional ad-hoc qual and quant insights skills, a good grasp of market & shopper data and experience working with digital and data insights too.

In what is seen as a critical role in the business, you will have a key role in creating the long-term strategy and innovation for one of its key brands by:

  • Identifying and harnessing consumer and shopper insights
  • Bringing real clarity to the brand strategy and equity based on robust insights
  • Shaping brand and product innovation projects to ensure they are set up for success
  • Identifying opportunities for brand growth in new and existing markets across the world

This is a role that will give you extensive senior level exposure with a remit to ensure the consumer is at the heart of every strategic and tactical decision that affects the performance and development of this large and complex brand with various formats, sub-brands and multiple SKUs.

Key Skills & Experience Checklist

  • Proven track record leading strategic brand projects in a consumer insights or planning role in a leading FMCG business or research agency/consultancy, with a focus on local and global/international markets
  • Significant experience generating and applying insights derived from real-time, data-driven, digital enabled systems
  • Deep understanding of best in class qual and quant research methodologies with an interest in seeking out new approaches
  • Exceptional analytical thinking skills – a smart and structured thinker with the ability to bring clarity to complex issues and ideas and turn them into actionable outputs and recommendations
  • Independent thinker and self-starter with restless energy and curiosity about consumers, shoppers and brands
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ambitious, driven and results-focused – someone who can flex his or her style to influence and build relationships in a very dynamic, fast-paced working culture
